You may be familiar with last year's Poco X3 or even the Poco X3 NFC, but now six months later we have the Poco X3 Pro. How is this one an upgrade over the others let's go over his key features and find out?
Why don't we start with the new features that the Pro version has to offer? First is a higher tier chipset, a flagship-grade Snapdragon 860 built on the 7nm processor, it doesn't offer 5g connectivity but actual performance here should be better than on the Poco X3 NFC, which runs on a mid-range snapdragon 732G. You can also get 6 or 8GB of RAM here, while the NFC has only 6GB.

The cooling system seems similar though with a copper heat pipe and graphite layers. There's only one other difference here and it's not quite as exciting, you have more storage on board 128 or 256GB and that's still expandable so we've seen what's new.
Now let's take a look at just how similar the Poco X3 Pro is to the lower tier models you can tell. Even at first glance, the design is absolutely the same. You have a curved plastic back with a metallic finish and textured stripe down the middle and a large Poco logo. The camera bump has that same wide shape and the dimensions and even weight are identical here down to the gram.

The screen is the same too, it's a 6.67-inch LCD with a 1080 pixel resolution and a Punch-Hole for the 20-megapixel selfie camera but instead of Gorilla Glass 5, this time around is protected by Gorilla Glass 6 otherwise it hasn't changed. It has a super-fast 120Hz refresh rate, so moving elements like in the UI look smooth and with a 240Hz touch sampling rate. This display is quite responsive too, with low latency. When we reviewed the Poco X3 NFC, we noted that the panel had some issues with ghosting and smearing when swiping around.
Hopefully, that's been addressed with the Pro version for audio, you get a pair of stereo speakers. Just like before we expect them to be loud like on the Poco X3 NFC. There's also a 3.5mm jack for headphones here and waking up and unlocking the phone is done with a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

The Poco X3 Pro's interface is Xiaomi's MIUI 12 and even though it's running over android 11 here not 10 like last year's phones. It's the same interface and you get an IR blaster which can send signals to appliances and you have NFC support to the Poco X3 Pro and has a 5,160 mAh battery again like the X3 NFC and we expect battery life to be great here as well, the same 33-watt fast charger is included in the box and it should be reasonably fast to charge up the phone.
Now I need to talk about a couple of things that seem like downgrades here. Like the quad-camera setup, it's similar but the main and ultra-wide cameras have lower resolutions this time around. There's a 48-megapixel quad more bay main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera and a depth. The sensor we'll have to see how their quality compares to last year.
Another thing that sticks out to me is that the Poco X3s of last year had IP53 rated splash proofing, while there's no mention of that here.

So there you have it guys overall I'm a bit confused by what Poco is trying to do with the X3 Pro, it's the X3 NFC but with a better chipset and after six months I would think that you need to add more than that to earn a Pro label. Meanwhile, the cameras are lower resolution and where did the splash proofing go?
